Forms in space
Initially from an Art & Design background I have explored many elements of the practice, from drawing, painting and print, to textiles, photography and sculpture. At university I studied Fine Art where I focused on photography and sculpture, though often combined the two areas, and created works using textiles materials to draw forms in space.
I further expanded my knowledge and understanding on the M.A Art Gallery Studies, Leicester, specialising in exhibition curation, collections access & interpretation and audience development. I have since worked in various museum and gallery environments, across a range of departments.
For several years photography had been my preferred medium. More recently I have been drawn to fashion, textiles and illustration. I have attended introductory dressmaking classes to refresh my sewing skills, and various short courses in millinery. Having discovered hat making allows me to fuse two of my favourite subjects, fashion and sculpture I am currently developing my millinery practice.
I enjoy finding new ways to express my creativity. The work produced reflects my passion for the first half of the twentieth century which will always be an inspiration.
I welcome collaborations, commissions, exhibitions and events. I am based on the North East Lincolnshire coast of England.
